In 2005 Shiloh a spiritual retreat center was established in the capitol city of Yaoundé. Located on the outskirts of the city in the direction of the airport, this is an ideal place to come and spend time with God, either individually or in groups.
Entering Shiloh is like stepping into another world. Though the house is not finished it is quiet, peaceful and lovely.
Built around an atrium Shiloh during a tropical rainstorm is something to behold!
With five bedrooms, four bathrooms and room to put mattresses on the floor, Shiloh has accommodated up to 45 over-night guests at a time.
Many meals are served at Shiloh to groups both large and small.
Whether large or small all meals are cooked in this kitchen.
Jim can often be found in Shiloh’s library mentoring pastors and church leaders and leading Bible studies.
At Shiloh we host: women’s retreats, men’s retreats, choir retreats, youth events…
children’s rallies and Sunday School picnics…
pastors come to spend time alone with God and some even bring their wives with them
Numerous Christian newlyweds spend their honeymoon at Shiloh!
Missionaries find Shiloh a relaxing place to stay when they are in the city for medical and other reasons.
Shiloh’s proximity to the airport makes it an ideal location for short term missionaries to spend their first night in Africa. The following morning we send them on their way rested from their long flight from America and eager to begin an adventure of a lifetime as they go off to help other missionaries on all sorts of projects.
Since arriving in Africa in 1991 the Tuckers have become increasingly aware of the need for a place for Church leaders and other believers to get alone with God. It is their joy and privilege to make this lovely home available to all whom God sends to them. Their prayer is that each one who enters through the gates would leave knowing God better than when they arrived.
